A wonderful location inside the old . Easy walk to the beaches, cafes, restaurants, sightseeing spots and shops. We had an enjoyable stay due to the wonderful staff from Valentina at check in to the ladies providing breakfast services on the terrace, to the most wonderful room cleaning services. I’ve never experienced anything so good. Our room was a great size with a balcony and a terrace with sun chairs, which was fabulous. Our bed and pillows were very comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. There was no issue with outside noise and the Wifi was great. Breakfast service on the rooftop terrace was lovely with a variety of fresh foods on offer from the traditional Italian breakfasts to options that catered for all international travelers. Valentina provided us with excellent communication prior to arrival to drop our luggage off at a central point and met us there and transported the luggage to the hotel. She provided options for car parking nearby. Her colleague helped me with our luggage on check out to transfer it back to the location where we could access it with our car.

Hotel Palazzo is a hidden gem within the castle walls. The location is perfect, walkable to every restaurant and historic structure. The staff are attentive and kind, genuinely invested in your experience. They made many recommendations for local sites to explore & eateries that were great. Eating breakfast upstairs overlooking the Adriatic was a great start to each day. The pastries, espresso, fruit, and antipasto were delicious. Our room was spacious and very clean, maintained & organized daily (the bathroom was beautiful!). If you found yourself on the outdoor terrace at sunset, you were greeted with Prosecco and local refreshments. Leaving, we had an early travel day beginning at 3:30am, made very easy by Hotel Palazzo. They arranged our transfer ahead of time and had fresh breakfast with hot espresso at 3am delivered to our room. We travel Europe a lot and this was one of the nicest experiences we've had. If you are staying in Otranto, this is the best place to be!

The hosts, Paolo and Teresa couldn't do enough for us, they helped us with restaurant bookings and a visit to their family olive grove masseria which was brilliant and the breakfast was great, lots of options and they even catered to my gluten free needs with delicious cakes and snacks from a local free from supermarket and offered us an olive oil tasting at breakfast and introduced us to the other lovely guests. It really feels like a small family run hotel with all the personal touches included. The gated car park within their property was also such a relief with such busy streets all around. Thank you!!

The hotel was such a nice experience in every way. The location is right in the old city close to the sea. The room was wonderful; it had a small balcony facing the sea, a nice bathroom and a very comfortable bed. Cleaning and tidying of the room were just perfect. The decor was very fitting for an Italian Palazzo. Very tasteful. The breakfast display was among the best we have seen. Homemade and delicious. The palazzo has a very good chef. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, we did not get to use the top terrace because of repair. All in all, great value for money.

Palazzo Papaleo was an excellent place to stay. The room was a great size, plenty of cupboard space and a great sized bathroom. The hotel was located in an excellent position in the middle of Old Town. The room was nice and quiet but you were in the heart of Old Town which was really handy. The roof top bar had the best view and lovely to watch sunsets. The staff were always super friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend staying at Palazzo Papaleo when you visit Otranto.
